It is tragic but this is what happens when you allow a complete breakdown of reality, meritocracy, and truth because the perpetrator of the fraud was of a "marginalized class." Teachers unions will keep beating parents and taxpayers as long as the latter are free riders.

Mancur Olson showed in 1965 that people with shared interests don’t necessarily organize. More common the bigger the group is, because when most people get the benefits without fighting, they don’t tend to contribute.

Unions on the other hand show up because they have concentrated interests, whereas parents and taxpayers bear only thin slices of the cost individually, making the fight often not worthwhile.

And as long as their interests are not concentrated, special interests will keep getting their way at the parents and taxpayers’ expense.
