Three people have contacted me this week to notify me that @matt_f90 and others at @OntarioIsSoccer have warned/ threatened them, not to like, comment on, or share my social media posts. Why does a Provincial Sports Organization that receives funding both publicy AND through its Membership (i.e. nonprofit soccer clubs, and the coaches and parents of soccer players within those clubs) want to violate its own Members' rights to free speech, and punish/suppress its own Members' criticism of its actions and policies? If any other soccer coaches, parents, or players have received similar warnings or threats from anyone at Ontario Soccer regarding my social media posts, please send me the evidence. Last time I checked we are still living in a free country, in which we all have the right to free speech and to criticize governmental sporting institutions.
