@lemmiwinkster@FrontierMontana@MTGOP@MTHouseGOP@MTSenateGOP@GovGianforte Do you want the state to mandate, even more than it already is, how local governments manage their budgets? Shouldn't local voters decide their local priorities and how they want their local leaders to manage their resources? Local control is best.
We have been INTENTIONALLY focusing on the important basics and priorities - public infrastructure, public safety, reducing development red tape, and fostering an attitude and culture that says, “How can we help you do that here?” rather than, “You can’t do that here.”
Not to mention a new law school and nursing school, a WinCo, and even a Chik-Fil-A coming to GF. 😃
But no, the change here didn’t happen suddenly or overnight, and it wasn’t dumb luck.
It’s happening because our community has been preparing for about 10 years.
Yesterday I overheard someone say, “Weird, I woke up one day, and suddenly Great Falls is different.” A massive Sentinel project, a bunch of new housing units approved, underway or built, a 2M square ft. Janicki Industries facility and a host of related companies looking at GF.
Stop already with the top-down one size fits all "solutions" to tax and budget issues for local governments in MT. It is NOT "conservative" to push state control over local communities. Local voters know how they want their communities to function and their own priorities.
It's simplistic and misleading to aggregate all state and local "collections" and to not mention reasons why tax revenue over inflation rates may be justified in some cases - such as increased public safety needs and replacing aging public infrastructure.
State and local governments collected a cumulative $6.85 billion more than inflation-paced growth would have allowed over the last decade.
That should make every Montana taxpayer furious.

From yesterday's GF city commission meetings:
We set a 7/21/26 public hearing for the city commission to consider approval the Little Shell Good Medicine housing development.
From yesterday's GF city commission meetings:
We approved the Great Falls Growth Policy. This is a very important document for the future of our town.

If you move to Montana, especially to Great Falls, from out of state, remember this: try to become more like Montana instead of trying to make Montana more like wherever it is you moved from. Thanks.😃
🚨Would everyone please help the Great Falls Police Department locate Eunice Kokovitch?🚨
She is a missing person and last had contact with her family last night (6/15/26). She was allegedly traveling back into Great Falls from the Conrad area.
Eunice suffers from dementia...
