@AnfieldWatch Yep. Tapped up and told not to sign new deal, only difference to Trent is that he made out he was going to stay so he didn’t get fan abuse.
@gavinjoneslive I wouldn’t say opportunistic, they have had a deal done with him for a year. Next ones will be MacAllister or Szoboszlai. Tapping them up to run their contracts down.
Newcastle had to start Karius in a cup final because Dubravka was cup tied, but Man City get to play Semenyo, despite him playing for Bournemouth in the Carabao this season.
Seems totally fair.
Very strange and almost attention seeking behaviour from certain Newcastle based journos around this Isak saga and now tonight’s game. Never known such a simple move for a top player being portrayed with such toxicity and blame on buying club. We made a bid for a player that wants to leave his present club. Offer was refused. We said we won’t bid again until they have either a) found replacements b) set a price . Meanwhile the behaviour of Isak is not been our problem. That’s a Newcastle and Isak issue. We have been very respectful and stayed out of all the agendas and narratives. Tonight’s game is what matters right now , set to be an explosive encounter that didn’t really need all the unnecessary headlines of “war” etc . But I get it I guess , they trying to build a rivalry that simply isn’t there . Great game in store tonight , can’t wait 🔥
