A brilliant year for personal growth - increased responsibility, leading my third ECT1, spoke at Research Ed Brum, delivered whole-school training to staff, conducted learning walks, sat on teacher panels for KS3 initiatives and an Education Review. Loved it all.

Well… I’ve had 2 naps and a 10 hour sleep since breaking up for half term yesterday. What a start😮‍💨🤣

Imagine the student who usually is unmotivated, disengaged, you know the one… the one with their head on desk who needs pushing for the simplest of instructions.

Well today they rewired 5 plugs in the time it took everyone else to rewire 1 or 2.

This “SPARKED” a conversation around him having the aspiration of becoming an electrical engineer… who’d have thought it?

The contemporary classroom setting isn’t for everyone, and I really think we’re missing the trick with this… but it was such a joyful moment to see their huge beaming (almost smug) face whilst their peers were saying “wow how on Earth did you do that so fast”

Yesterday’s ace #rEDBrum wouldn’t have happened without my colleagues. From the support of the fab @LiftSchools tech team to the ace @Lauren_J_Atkiss & @RickardsScience helping behind the scenes. But the biggest shout out is to my partner in crime, @R_Atton. What a complete star!
