@CharleneCamillo@StephAntone@christibelcourt In ililîmowin we say pâskitihkew to mean 's/he makes a basket.' Also: ni pâskitihkân (I make a basket), ki pâskitihkân (you make a basket). Fun words! :)
Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay ! I’m SO proud of the hard work my fellow #ililîmowin learners do to reclaim our language. It’s not always easy, we make lots of mistakes, but we always leave language nights with a smile.
@JustinTrudeau Now what is your government going to do in the coming weeks to implement each and every one of the TRC calls to action, as well as end all boil water advisories in Indigenous communities? This gesture is meaningless without real action.
@KMiylk Yes! I found it strange that there was no answer key. I’ve been using the Moose Cree dictionary and it’s associated Grammar Guide (whcih has exercises & answers lol). Plus any help from Elders & other language holders
Awesome article about #moosecree#languagerevitalization ! I was interviewed on behalf of ILR, the group I've cofounded to help with revitalization efforts in my hometown

Made ᐋᓚᐦᑯᓈᐤ (âlahkonâw) w/ my mom today. We didn't use English - when we didn't know the word in #cree we used gestures instead. We said all of the ingredients and measurements in #ililîmowin! Hope we didn't mix up the words for tsp and tbsp...😁 #languagerevitalization
MIND BLOWN that Twitter cited contexts of reception in their decision to ban Trump's account. Not just *what was said* but *how it was interpreted* ... Serious linguistic unpacking forthcoming...
@AnnamariaFabia2 @AmyRuckes Thanks for the shoutout @ConstanzeAB 😺
I work in northern Canada on Cree LR. Ive helped start a grassroots Cree lang program, but I’m also interested in issues of racism, resource development, & virtual revitalization strategies. Always happy to chat & share info ☺️
