For #BellLetsTalk Day, #TeamCanada athletes wanted to share with you what has helped them through their toughest times.
@jpete93 wants to break the stigma 💙
Mitch Marner: "Never be afraid to lend a hand out & ask people how they're doing. It's a serious time right now with everything going so make sure you're taking care of one another & showing love to all you can"
#BellLetsTalk
It's #bellletstalk day! Remember, mental health is important to talk about. We can only break the stigma together through open conversation and through increasing access to support systems that facilitate change. @shelkenn
After final question of his media session tonight, Mitch Marner added this:
"Also, I want to say one thing. It's #BellLetsTalk ... You should never be afraid to speak out. If you are in need don't be afraid to talk to a friend or family member ..."
Be the teammate who checks in.
The teammate who shows up for others.
And the teammate who knows it's OK to show up for yourself.
There should be no stigma around mental health. #BellLetsTalk
Today we acknowledge the struggles many of us face but more importantly shine a light on the fact that none of us are alone. Let’s end the stigma and make every effort to be there for each other 💙 #BellLetsTalk
Hey Westcoast! It’s getting a little late out east but there’s no time like the present to keep talking. Take us to the finish line, you’ve got this! 💙#BellLetsTalk
Wayne Simmonds on the #LoveScarborough campaign
"If you ask somebody from Scarborough if they're from Toronto they'll tell you, 'No, I'm from Scarborough' ... everyone's trying to give back to the place we call home"
@SHNFoundation#BellLetsTalk
I understand not wanting to give Bell any free publicity, especially because of the callous cuts they made last year right after #BellLetsTalk day, but using the hashtag makes them make a donation. That they get to write it off doesn’t change the fact that the donation happens.
