@lukeburgis@Airbnb Airbnb is the absolute worst. They always take the landlord’s side. Their customer service is dreadful. One of the worst experiences of my life. I hope you get this sorted but you need to go outside the Airbnb platform to fight it, they will not help you. F*ck Airbnb!
@rod_mallo The word “exit” has become synonymous with “success”. Everyone spins these things to their advantage. An investor or founder with “5 successful exits” behind them is viewed as a genius in VC. People rarely ask about the $, esp on social media. Total BS but sadly that’s the game.
@brandonhli@Airbnb Sounds like a typical response from @Airbnb other than the fact you actually got a refund. Their customer service is atrocious. The f**k-up factor makes it way too risky. If you arrive & it’s bad, it can ruin your entire vacation & Airbnb won’t care once they have your money.
@BoKnowsNews@Airbnb Sorry you went through this. @Airbnb is truly a nightmare company and their customer support is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. It’s bad enough when a trip goes badly but their support makes it 10x worse. Totally traumatic. They don’t care at all. Airbnb is just horrendous.
@JoeyMannarinoUS Airbnb is just the absolute worst. It’s bad enough when you turn up to a horrible place that was misrepresented in the listings but their customer service team makes everything 10x worse with the way they treat customers with grievances, even genuine ones. Disgusting.
@SureAsMel @Airbnb So sorry. Airbnb is absolutely fucking dreadful. They’ll pass you on from person to person hoping you give up. They’ll say every issue you list is technically “fixable” so not cause for a refund. They’ll even fight your credit card company when they agree to a partial refund.
@mikemcg0 So true. We’ve fetishized raising high amounts at high valuations. But over-raising and over-valuing ends up killing 50% of startups within just a few years. VCs have their own agenda & their mortality rate doesn’t care about founders’ feelings. Great lessons in this video 👍
@MPECSInc@daveholtz@Airbnb It did have good reviews! I think that's why the owner felt entitled & arrogant. He knew Airbnb would take his side on everything. His place was awful. Lesson learnt = don't use @Airbnb again. They went to such lengths to screw me, it was horrendous. Seems I'm not the only one!
@MPECSInc@daveholtz@Airbnb That’s what I did! @Airbnb still fought & lied to my bank so they withdrew the partial refund I had in writing. I had to beg the Airbnb owner who’d screwed me over for his help to resolve it. A ruined trip & lost money was bad enough but that was heartbreaking. They’re despicable
@daveholtz@Airbnb The worst company. And wait, @AirbnbHelp will be really nice in the public threads and promise to make it right, and then once you try to get any actual help from them it’ll be the usual runaround as they hope you give up. They’re just dreadful in every way.
@MPECSInc@daveholtz@Airbnb I did that and @Airbnb still denied the chargeback even though they’d promised a partial refund in writing. They are shameless and horrendous.
@josephazam@Airbnb My condolences on your loss. @Airbnb customer service is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. This is their classic tactic: they put you on hold for hours & pass you from person to person then hang up on you. They hope you just give up. It’s heartbreaking. Pitiful. Shameful.
Such sad news. RIP Andy Rourke. Grateful I got to shake his hand once while he was DJ’ing at Poptastic in Manchester in 2003. While everyone is talking about his amazing bass playing, I’m thinking today of the memories he helped create, and smiling. Safe travels Andy.

@AirbnbHelp@Jdaham@Airbnb’s customer service policy is to pass you on from person to person for hours until you get “disconnected”. This happened several times. They hope you just give up and move on. Spoken to so many people who had the same thing. @Airbnb & @AirbnbHelp will NOT help you. Ever!
@UghItsV56 Find a couple of restaurants/dishes that you absolutely love, & a couple of great freezer meals to have on hand. Whenever you want to treat yourself or you’re just feeling lazy, you’ll have a couple of easy options that you know will be satisfying & delicious w/o being tempted 👍
