@Boilerseller@gregrakestraw@IHSAAtv No financially viable entity came forward to cover the costs of the broadcast after Fox Sports (Bally) went bankrupt.
@RicheyWambach@IHSAA1 Yeah, we gotta solve a problem. There's 3 times more public schools than private yet 6 of the 8 teams playing for a state championship are public. How are we going to get better representation for the private schools?
@Bearmo17@IHSAA1 Fox/Bally charged you $3.50 per month for their channel on DirecTV. Bally cancelled their contract with the IHSAA. No system or station came forward to buy the rights. All sporting events will eventually be all-carte allowing you to buy what you want and don't. It's reality.
@cshank1@IHSAA1 During the sectional and regional leveled games, streaming is done by independent webcasters who purchase rights to webcast. Not all games will be streamed and there is no guarantee. At the semi-state level for most major sports, all sites are covered and streamed as PPV
@mmessengerpga What states? The IHSAA only controls post season tournaments. Additionally, if the IHSAA were to hold a holiday tourney, how do schools handle the loss of revenue from their local holiday tourneys? Would a holiday tourney impact the plans of athletes who travel on xmas?
@RunnerBill@DaleGasaway@JMV1070 Was watching Bally/Fox free or were you paying $42 a year for that priveldge? Oh wait, you were! 59 never had the contract, 40 had it at the end of the last century.
@Reprob47@KenFoxTruth@NWHS_Football You have paid to watch the games on TV since 2010. You are still paying to watch most EVER game on TV thru your cable bill.
@GreggDoyelStar Frankly, tired of your hate and division narrative targeting those that 'grew up here' and who didn't transplant from an island. Hate must sell newspapers.
