As most know @X took down the best source on this site for the current state of Al-Qaeda called @TrackingAQ—then today after writing about how our government is funding terrorism (which they have doubled down on and not stopped under a new admin) their new site @trackingthebase was taken down.

There’s a deliberate effort to keep you in the dark about Al-Qaeda’s current activities. Whether you're scrolling on X, waiting for the mainstream media to speak up, or counting on agencies like the FBI to sound the alarm—you're going to be waiting a long time. Help ain’t coming. I hope that’s crystal clear.

The current standard in journalism tends to prioritize sensationalism over informative content. Unfortunately, isolating reporters may lead to even more negative coverage. To attract higher-caliber journalists, we need to raise the expectations of both advertisers and readers. I agree with this point, for the most part.

We need to STOP giving journalists the role of moderating conversations during global forums.

Why?

Because this kind of stages are not journalistic spaces.

They are supposed to be rare and strategic spaces.

They bring together people who are shaping the future.

They’re designed to make big and bold ideas emerge.

And yet, we see journalists trying to play the same old game:

- Trap the speaker.
- Ask superficial questions.
- Turn everything into a headline.

I’ve already experienced this myself.

Travelling halfway across the world to speak…

Only to be interviewed by someone who didn’t even prepare.

Who was more interested in being seen than in listening.

Who asked questions with no depth, no understanding, no sense of the stakes.

That’s exactly what happened yesterday with @MishalHusain interrogating @elonmusk.

The problem for her here... is that she just didn’t fall on the right person.

➡️ My point for global event organizers:

When you give the microphone to journalists in these contexts, you lower the level.

It turns what should be a high-level dialogue into something performative.

It confuses media visibility with intellectual leadership.

I believe the people who moderate these conversations should have real substance.

These forums are not TV shows.
They’re not there to entertain.
They’re there to shift minds.

Let’s treat them accordingly.
