8 year old was sick today. Called the office. They told me I had to submit the absence on ParentVue. Couldn’t figure it out and called again. Told me I had to wait for the push notification at 10am.
Finally called again at 11 and said “please just mark my kid absent”
And don’t give me nonsense about wanting to save the environment from printing too many papers, because these schools be using AI for everything now lmao
My boomer complaint: I’m tired of everything being online. “Check this app! Check Facebook! Check instagram! Check email!” Just send the damn flyer home with the kids! It’s not that hard.
@Brujatalksbotan You’re doing well by sticking your ground. You’re a strong parent. Just because we’re Hispanic doesn’t mean we have to stick to “tradition.” This isn’t the 80s anymore.
@Brujatalksbotan I chose to wait until my daughter was older too! Now she’s 10, almost 11, and can speak for herself to say she’s ready. We’re also going to make a day out of it. She wants hers, I’ll get my seconds, and my bf wants his.
@Brujatalksbotan I also agree on the shoes! Young children still have so many bones and growing to do. It’s explained that those jelly shoes and crocs are the absolute worst too for developing walkers because there’s no ankle support. Little socks to protect her skin will be just fine.
@servlsprout I work at Spencer’s too! 😂 when they had the teen hearts promotion, there was that t shirt with the bunny in a harness, we had ppl coming in asking if we sold the harness for their bunnies lol
@Brujatalksbotan It’s only gotten worse for me. My daughter is almost 11 and a lot of ppl judge for her being a single child. Always saying she needs a friend and I need a boy. Still pisses me off to this day.
Back to work today after everything.. I know the world keeps turning, and this is how life goes, but I feel like I’m just on auto pilot. One day at a time.. even if it feels like a blur.
