Yesterday was incredible at University Stadium 🔥👏
27,526 in attendance, the largest November crowd since 2008.
First win over Colorado State since 2009.
5-0 at home for the first time since 1962.
Clinched our first winning season since 2016.
So proud of @Coach_Eck and this @UNMLoboFB team.
The mission is not complete and everything is still in front of us.
See you in two weeks, Lobo Nation!
#GoLobos 🐺
@NickViaNyte I couldn’t agree more with this post. This is the only show in town. You can make all the excuses in the world, but Rocky said it best himself, the fans need to show up and support. Period.
@lobogabe I guess I’m not following why this is horrible? It’s national tv. I’d be grateful to see the Lobos on the CW because it would mean national exposure. But New Mexico finds themselves on the outside looking in for one reason…Football. They can’t compete where it counts.
@lobogabe So people will make the argument that New Mexico basketball is not a big time program and it’s true. It’s not. They don’t win in the tournament and can’t pay their stars enough to stay. But all of that is besides the point.
@lobogabe You can argue “basketball” till you’re blue in the face but the fact remains, football is the money maker. Not to mention men’s basketball has never won more than one game in the NCAA tournament ever.
"I've never been one that said I don't believe student-athletes shouldn't be paid. But the way it is now is ridiculous. It's utterly ridiculous"
Steve Alford was asked if there's anything he & his staff need to do to help navigate this new landscape of college basketball & here was his response. It's long but worth a listen 👇
