Then I remembered how some people mocked the First Lady's comments about small businesses. Looking at that woman, I couldn't help but think that a ₦200,000 grant could completely transform her business.
Not every government initiative deserves praise, and not every criticism is wrong. But sometimes we dismiss ideas simply because everyone else is doing so.
Small businesses have changed countless lives in Nigeria. There's dignity in honest work, and sometimes the opportunity we're laughing at could be life-changing for someone else.
It's okay to question leaders. It's also okay to think independently instead of following the loudest voices.
