A journalist from a leading newspaper told us they have been explicitly instructed not to publish anything from the Epstein files that relates to India - in their words, “Modi and Epstein cannot appear together in an article.”

To enforce this, the publication has used its tech backend to block the keywords “Epstein” and “Modi” in its CMS - the Content Management System used by journalists to file and publish stories directly.

This is just one publication. I'm sure such directives went to other newspapers too. Needless to say, this goes beyond editorial discretion. This is censorship!

But it is important to note that the extraordinary measures the government is taking to ban books, articles, or videos signal fear - not confidence. This is a government too terrified by the ugliness of its own actions, too frightened by the possibility of scrutiny, and too desperate to hide the stench of its intentions that it is trying to micro-manage everything and in the process, increasingly losing the plot.

@jagritchowdhary Like you said, we can’t blame the entire population of Kashmiri Muslims for a few rotten apples similar to how we can’t generalize any community. As far as I’m aware, I don’t see them lean towards separation anymore & I don’t believe that they’re a threat to our existence.
