@LaraAHayes Constant issue. Hospitals claim to be and run a 24/7 service but don’t staff it or base models of care around it. Allied health same issues.
@womenandbirth@ProfLindaSweet Perfectly summarises what we experience. That dreaded word ‘Direct Entry’ is still used everywhere. Even recruiters add it to their job advertisements, ‘direct entry encouraged to apply’ or ‘direct entry considered’. Constant battle, this piece will assist and I’ll share widely.
@OriginalAussie So good to share it when we can. Need to remember that $40 to us might be two bottles of wine or a meal out, but it’s much more to other people. Karma will smile on you 😀
@world_midwives@TeamCMidO Lots of hard work, paid off! Very proud to have you as the first Chief Midwife ICM, Professor @Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent. Congratulations and looking forward to your continued advocacy for our profession.
@AshDahlstrom I remember this. So incredibly sad. I can’t even imagine the fear he experienced during this time. Racial profiling at its strongest caused his death. RIP little man
@Anna202184 Yes it is. I manage a hospital Midwifery Group Practice in South Australia. We offer home births too. The issue is not just where they live but more so the health and social issues certain postcodes are more susceptible too. This often excludes women.
@anmjaustralia@Midwife_Kellie Making so much sense @Midwife_Kellie from one proud midwife to another, thanks for spreading the gospel. No better suited person to share the truth.
