Melissa Esperanza Ramirez, the 27-year-old charged with driving drunk and crashing into off-duty Bridgeport Police Officer Cooper Whiteside and his girlfriend Brittany Islami on July 13, had her bond lowered from $500,000 to $300,000 by Democrat-appointed Judge Seán McGuinness. The reason cited was that “she has deep ties to the community.”

Ramirez’s blood alcohol level was 0.14. Both Whiteside, 38, and Islami, 34, a mother of three, died at the scene. ICE has lodged a detainer identifying her as a criminal illegal alien.

We now have confirmation from the CVRS state voter database that this is the same woman.

Initial registration date: Effective Date is 8/4/2017, Privilege Date is 10/28/2020.

Addresses include 242 Oak St. in New Britain starting 3/15/2018, then 94 Griswold St., and later 94 Booth St.

Current Status: Active.

Registration Timeframe: 8/4/2017 to present.

Cause: DMV on 8/3/2017, online change on 10/27/2020, and another DMV change on 7/4/2025.

I have a hard time believing that Mamdani has magically figured out how to sell groceries 30% cheaper than every other market in America. The average grocery store only makes about 2 cents of profit on the dollar. Even if they make NO profit, Mamdani's stores still need to cut 28% more off the cost. Sure, they won't have to pay rent or taxes, but they also can't buy in bulk (there's only 5 of them), won't sell high-margin products like hot food or beer, and will probably pay their workers well above the market rate.

You can't cut 30% off the price of groceries with that strategy and expect to be profitable. That's just simple math. New Yorkers won't be getting cheaper food. They will just be buying groceries with your tax dollars and calling it a store.

How the USA got Mexican land.

The USA actually paid Santa Anna for the land transferred to the USA (it wasn't cheap). It wasn't just "stolen". Santa Anna took the money. In addition, the USA assumed all debts that the Mexican government owed to American citizens. This was all laid out in the legal and binding treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

Also all Mexican nationals living in the newly ceded territories were offered American citizenship.

Six years after the peace, the USA offered to buy more of Mexico - the Gadsden purchase which is now southern New Mexico. Santa Anna WANTED to make the Gadsden deal.

So the land handed over by Mexico was 100% legal. Not just conquered.
