They've been releasing mosquitoes since 2017 but they have been sterile mosquitoes. This is different/worse because Wolbachia virus will be used in male mosquitoes. A PubMed study that explains the separation of the males from the females is not precise and if a female is infected it can actually increase the population of mosquitoes. Wolbachia virus they're using supposedly in the male mosquito. A PubMed study on this explains separating the females from the males is not a precise science and if a female is infected with a virus it will have the exact opposite effect and actually grow the mosquito population. I filed my objection with the EPA which they were accepting until June 5th. They're going to approve it because not enough people rejected it. Texas was able to stop it with enough resistance from the people. Lastly, they will not disclose exact locations the releases in California and Florida will take place
