A woman went to the market and bought some live snails. She brought them home and kept them in a safe place until she was ready to cook them. Every day, she gave the snails water and fresh leaves to eat. The next day, when she went to check on them, she noticed something surprising, the snails had laid eggs! She felt pity for them and decided not to kill them yet. So she left them alone and continued taking care of them. A few days later, the woman decided it was finally time to cook the snails. She went to get them, but the moment she picked them up, she noticed something strange. The snails felt unusually light. Then she noticed a terrible smell coming from them. She thought about it for a moment and said, “Maybe if I wash them very well, the smell will disappear.” So she took the snails into the kitchen, washed them thoroughly, and started preparing all the ingredients for her soup. While she was washing the snails, one of her children walked into the kitchen. “Ah, Mummy! What is that smell? Is it the snail?” The woman replied, “Yes, it's the snail. But don't worry, I've washed it very well.” The child looked at the snails and said, “But Mummy, the last time you bought snails, they didn't smell like this.” The woman ignored the warning and continued cooking. After a while, the child came back into the kitchen and said, “Mummy, I will not eat this snail o! The smell is very bad.” This time, the woman became uncomfortable. She decided not to eat the snails after all. Instead, she took the cooked snails and gave them to her three dogs. Several hours later, she went to check on the dogs. To her horror, all three dogs were dead. The woman stood there in shock.
