Please join us in congratulating and celebrating Police Officer Sonia Gregoire on her retirement from the Riley County Police Department after nearly 25 years of dedicated service to the people of Manhattan and Riley County.
Officer Gregoire has served Riley County with professionalism, integrity, and dedication, but her commitment to public safety began well before her full-time appointment with RCPD, starting in 1986 when she served as a part-time Explorer and later as an Auxiliary Officer. Gregoire also served with the Geary County Sheriff’s Office and Junction City Police Department before joining RCPD full-time in 2001.
Throughout her tenure, Gregoire served in Patrol, Investigations, and as a School Resource Officer (SRO), and was a member of the Clandestine Lab Team, Hostage Negotiation Team, and Hiring Board. She was especially dedicated to youth engagement and community outreach through her work as an SRO and her involvement in programs such as Special Olympics, where she helped build strong, positive relationships with the community's youth.
Thank you, Officer Gregoire, for your many years of dedicated service to RCPD, the community, and the law enforcement profession.
Thank you all for stopping by for a conversation and coffee on Wednesday morning at Target. We had a blast at Coffee with a Cop and couldn't have asked for a better host than Target. We can't wait to see everyone when we do it again!
This week, we pause to honor the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers everywhere. National Police Week reminds us of the dedication it takes to serve a community each day with courage, compassion, and resilience. We are proud of those who wear the Riley County Police Department badge and grateful for their continued commitment to the public safety of Riley County.
Our radar caught some serious speedsters on Friday during Northview Elementary's field day activities, but no citations were issued. Thank you for letting RCPD be part of your fun day!
