I've been advocating for our local businesses this week, whether calling on the Government to tackle soaring energy bills or meeting to discuss their concerns.
I also supported many charities across some fantastic fairs over the weekend.
Here's what else I have done this week:
Student loans are an issue of intergenerational fairness, and I'm glad to be digging into this issue as part of Parliament's @CommonsTreasury Committee. Thank you to each of the 52,000 people who submitted evidence for the our inquiry into student loan fairness.
I strongly encourage cycling but I’m concerned about the dangerous use of e-bikes and e-scooters, particular when sharing spaces with pedestrians and breaking the speed limit. If you are concerned about this issue please complete my survey at: https://t.co/azIotLc6kj
Today I attended the rape gang debate in Parliament.
In other news, here I am with someone charged with rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm, who I described as "an important voice for young men".
As your MP, I’m committed to securing the responses you deserve from the Government on your concerns.
Despite following up, some constituents have waited over 12 weeks for a reply from the Department for Work and Pensions. I will keep pushing until this is resolved.
The first step in our plan to give people what they vote for is to ensure that all areas that vote Reform in the local elections will have a council run by incompetent half-wits, who will destroy local services and increase council tax.
You get what you vote for.
When voting in the local elections, please judge Reform on our record so far:
-over 75 councillors sacked, resigned or defected
-every council raised council tax after promising to cut it
-Staffordshire sacked two leaders for racism
-Nottinghamshire spent £70k putting flags up
It was brilliant to welcome Ed Davey back to Wokingham to chat with residents on their doorstep and at Wild Acres Care Home. Thank you to the incredible staff at Wild Acres for your hard work, the Lib Dems will continue fighting for social care to receive the support it deserves.
The Chancellor didn’t rule out a fixed-term freeze on private sector rents when I asked her in Parliament today.
As Trump's war in Iran continues to drive up costs, this move would provide vital security for young families, who are most affected by the cost of living.
This is what made this country great – morons drinking Stella, following a man with a bucket on his head and cheering a fuckwit on a 4x4 who’s wanted in Spain for a £40m fraud. So proud to be English right now.
This week, I welcomed Ed Davey back to Wokingham and visited the Wild Acres Rest Home to call for better support for social care.
I also urged the Government to cut fuel and travel costs to keep residents moving. Here is what else I've done this week:
Wokingham offers some incredible views of Berkshire’s countryside, and it is a shame that there are not enough places for residents to sit and enjoy them. I’m campaigning for more benches in Dinton Pastures, we all deserve better public places to rest and enjoy of our local area.
