I wore an earring to church yesterday.

I went to worship. I went with my whole chest. I was present, I was focused, I was ready to receive.
Then a stranger tapped me mid-service and told me God was disappointed in me.
Not because of my character. Not because of how I treat people. Not because of anything I said or did.
Because of a piece of metal on my ear.
I told him to mind his business. He told me my business in Christ is his business.
I want you to think about that for a second.
A man walked into the house of God and decided his assignment that morning was not to worship. It was to police another man’s appearance. To appoint himself as the gatekeeper of who is acceptable before God.
I have tattoos too, by the way. Should the church post bouncers at the gate for that as well?
Here is what nobody wants to say out loud: the church has driven more people away with judgment than the world ever did with temptation.
I did not leave angry at God. I left asking one question.
If the first thing a man of faith does when he sees me is tell me I am a disappointment, why would someone who does not know God think church is a place for them?
We are so busy enforcing dress codes, we forgot the assignment was love.

Post WW2, the US Marshall Plan donated $13 billion (over $150 billion today) into rebuilding war-ravaged Europe, laying the foundation for its prosperity post WW2 and the NATO alliance itself.

For 75 years, the US has shouldered the bulk of NATO’s defense spending and capabilities, securing Europe’s peace.

In this ongoing Iran war, admittedly triggered by US-Israeli strikes against Iran; any aggression threatening global oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz; EU NATO partners should reciprocate based on history, alliances with the US as a nation not singling out a person (Trump).

Historical gratitude, shared security and the need to deter nuclear threats demand unity. Just as the US stood with Europe in its darkest hour in WW2. It is imperative Europe backs her ally to preserve the transatlantic bond that has prevented major World Wars since 1945.

The NATO alliance was with the nation not President Trump.
