The future of Europe’s environment is on the line 🌍
Since 1992, the LIFE Programme has delivered real impact from biodiversity to climate action. Its independence must be protected in the next #EUBudget

The prolonged prosecution of our President, Zita Gurmai, Hungarian MP, and other opposition members is a clear attempt to intimidate the opposition in Hungary ahead of elections. We are deeply concerned and stand firmly by her and all those concerned.
Progressives call for an ambitious and fair #MFF and a future-proof EU agenda. Ministers and representatives from the PES met ahead of the upcoming General Affairs Council to discuss the next Multiannual Financial Framework, preparations for the next #EUCO, and key priorities shaping the EU’s agenda for 2026. The next MFF must drive the green, digital and social transitions, uphold the Social Pillar, strengthen security and boost innovation.

The idea comes back every few years - we should destroy the euro. Allegedly this time around - because high-debt countries control the ECB. Except this is wrong. We have many problems in Europe indeed - but destroying the euro helps us solving none of them. Thread below 1/n

SONO VERAMENTE ORGOGLIOSO DI REGALARE QUESTO🥉ALL'ITALIA.
POI NON ME NE FREGA SE DIRANNO 'È UN ALTRO NATURALIZZATO, UN ALTRO RUBATO AL MAROCCO.'
IO SONO ORGOGLIOSAMENTE ITALIANO.
SONO FELICISSIMO DI AVER ALZATO IL TRICOLORE"
In the #SOTEU Cohesion is already gone.
Just days ago @vonderleyen said it belongs to the heart of the EU
And the budget proposal rips the heart out, slices it into 27 pieces, and hands it in a bag to the capitals.
Europe left with a brain in a jar.
Draghi totally misunderstood
A week in the life of a “geopolitical Commission”

🔸EU-China 🇪🇺🇨🇳 summit in Beijing: another gross embarrassment

The @CoR_President has lashed out at the EU Commission’s long-term budget plan unveiled yesterday.
In an interview with the @enr_newsroom, she called it “the monster that swallowed cohesion”.

We urge @vonderleyen to deliver a bigger and stronger Multiannual Financial Framework-post 2027. A genuine system of new own resources and joint borrowing that can address the challenges facing Europeans with no cuts in social spending. Cohesion policy and the European Social Fund+ must not fall victim, given they boost economic growth and social convergence across the EU.
The Progressive family joins forces in its message to @vonderleyen:
✊cohesion policy has to deliver on both the new challenges and the promotion of social, territorial and economic covergence;
✊keep cohesion policy implementation in the hands of regional authorities, not national capitals;
❌No to  one national plan » per Member State;
❌No to « money against national reform » rule for access to cohesion funds.

Housing policy should be anchored in social rights, sustainability, and the public good rather than market principles! Read the latest policy study “Housing as an investment in Greece and Southern Europe: Private profit vs social value”.

This policy study argues that mainstream policy mechanisms (including reliance on free market) which are seen as solutions to housing are inherently part of the problem.
🇬🇷 It focuses on housing policy in Greece with comparative insights from Southern Europe. After the global financial crisis, real estate and construction sectors in Southern European countries became particularly dependent on foreign demand and tourism.
80 years ago today, Italy ended its fascist regime. 29 years later, Portugal followed.
April 25 marks the soul of Europe: Democracy vs tyranny. Freedom vs oppression. Rights vs abuse.
It belongs to all who believe in antifascism.
Viva la Liberazione! 25 de Abril sempre!
