We are testing and refining auto-check-in at a few exclusive locations in Wellington initially... the @paperkiteltd office, Peoples Coffee Lukes Lane, and (coming soon) @HashigoZake
@Aethylred@paperkiteltd With a lot of difficulty? It's not something we designed for when we expected people to be scanning for 6 weeks tops! Not ideal - but hang onto the old phone for a couple of weeks?
What happens if you can't afford a modern smartphone and the official NZ COVID Tracer app doesn't work on your older phone?
For those running with an old phone at least Android 5 Rippl can be used for the same functionality. Read more here:

We hope everyone has a safe and stress-free lockdown.
If you do venture out to essential locations over the next few weeks, make sure your contact tracing app, either Rippl or NZ Covid Tracer, is up to date with the latest version. And please continue to keep scanning!
Now that Wellington is in Alert Level 2, it's a timely reminder to keep scanning and keep a digital diary of everywhere you've been. You can also enable Bluetooth on your Covid Tracer if you're prone to forget to manually scan in.
@dznz @aurynn@paperkiteltd Google pulled Rippl from the store (they are super cautious with Covid related apps). We are working with MOH to sort this out as a top priority.
@BroadleySpking @paperkiteltd@vizowl Not so good for knowing which pump or table you’re at - but have proven in testing to be ideal for venue check ins. Rest assured, we’ve banked the learning from when you were at PaperKite.
For now we're just testing this out with iPhone users at a select few locations including @Beervananz, People's Coffee (Luke's Ln) and @HashigoZake

Supported by our integration partner status with the @minhealthnz, we’re trialling Rippl Auto Check-In.
With Auto Check-In there's no need to scan a QR code! We check you in automatically at locations with a Rippl iBeacon.
