@BorisJohnson Unfortunately, reality is that those with nuclear capability & British/US weapons are safe. i.e Iran, Saudi, China, Russia, not liberal democracies yet no UK/US interference. Its the small nations with no defence UK/US like to strike. Playgroundโ behaviour at state level. Sadly.
@BorisJohnson Doesn't make sense to bomb one country not selling oil to UK but same political landscape as another who does but gets instead hand shakes? This is what infuriates people to violence as feel no other solution to this daylight hypocrisy! UK not acting morally but expects others to
@BorisJohnson Pls can u explain why UK not bombing Saudi Arabia? Because they supply UK with oil & billions to buy UK arms? As long as that deal is bigger than total aid budget, UK ok to ignore their atrocities? & Syria not selling oil to UK, so start bombing? Just like Iraq? @foreignoffice
@BorisJohnson Mixed feelings but at least he made some honest points, mainly that nationalism of the 'liberal' kind is a must in middle east and African countries, only Muslim natives can really change the political landscape, esp to keep West from meddling. Muslim unity = peace & prosperity
British foreign policy is not the problem; it is part of the solution. Together with our international partners we can defeat terrorism https://t.co/eKtvevWnXv
@guardianopinion Are intelligent politicians purely a thing of the past now? You know, like as recent but far gone as the 1800s when you had to have had a brain to enter the sphere of governance? Maybe some tact too? ๐ค
@redrustin@WritersofColour Makes me sad that racism feeds off divisions between other groups, to this day, for example, blacks or Muslims are not united, giving fuel to white conditioning from day to day exclusion in work place to raging of wars to whitewashing advertising across the globe... Ouf...
@redrustin@WritersofColour Great piece, but not a surprise, women do not propel eachother even within same race group, let alone those that are 'other'. I think 1st we must have powerful sisterhoods even if all black, or all Asian, that then assimilate over time, all women across factors which 'divide' us.
Western powers were not built by involvement of other nations, from completely different continents. Even after perpetrating two world wars, no western power did to Germany what they have practiced with the rest of the world. #doublestandard#lovethyneighbour only? @BorisJohnson
But - i may not be cognizant of history in total, but did middle east note enjoy stability in sense they were getting on with it, minding their own business prior to British invasion, to them carving it up, and post Brits leaving, until Iraq wars initiated by US? @BorisJohnson
Finally someone @BorisJohnson in West said this 'the problem of the Muslim world is that there is not enough nationalism' but hope West will not confuse it when it occurs for 'terrorism' again...
