Professional news — yesterday was my last day at @ndtv … To the NDTV I have known and grown up watching, it has been the honour and privilege of my life to be one of you❤️
Personal news — I have been nursing a health issue which literally forced me to rest and take a break. Burnout is real, so here’s a reminder to put yourself first and listen to your body while you do everything else. Easy to preach, very tough to practice, so wish me luck :)
People can have differences and nuanced takes on CJP but it is inexcusable to remain silent on the custody of Ashutosh and Saurav. This is an egregious violation of a citizen's liberty. Please speak up. If not on principle, than in self-interest, for this is setting a precedent.
Two men who punched a minor girl then dragged her onto the road, continued to hit her, and ripped her t-shirt got bail within 24 hours. Meanwhile, remand extended for two guys who waved the tricolour. 🤷♂️
Journalists take out a silent protest march around the Press Club of India condemning the assault on and detention of media persons covering the CJP protests.
Which organisation thought it was acceptable to send a pregnant employee with a complicated pregnancy to cover a massive, overcrowded protest march? What kind of employer puts an employee in such a potentially dangerous situation?

@ECISVEEP
Tomorrow at 10AM, me, @SauravDassss, @whattalawyer and other CJP leaders will go to Parliamentary Street Police Station to get a date for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar.
@DelhiPolice can give us a date for Jantar Mantar in 24 hours, or we will give another protest call ourselves.

#WATCH | Nagpur | Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Founder Abhijeet Dipke says, "The Delhi Police came and told me that my grandmother had died. I then asked the Delhi Police to let me call my cousin who lives in the village; I requested them to bring my phone for just two minutes. They refused, saying they couldn't bring the phone and asked me to provide the number instead. I told them I didn't remember the number by heart and asked them to just hand me the phone for two minutes so I could retrieve the number and give it to them. Even then, they did not give me the phone. By law, I have the right to call my lawyer as well. The Delhi Police did not allow that either; they wouldn't let me call my lawyer. I needed to call my cousin—who lived with my grandmother in the village—to ask what had happened and how. The Delhi Police still refused to give me the phone. What do you make of that? They still wouldn't let me make the call. At 3:30 AM, the Delhi Police came and told me to call my parents and inform them that I had been arrested. What was the intention behind this? Waking me up at 3:30 AM and telling me to call my parents—waking them up too—to tell them I was under arrest? I asked them why they hadn't informed my parents all day that I had been arrested or where I was being held. Why didn't you tell them during the day? Why are you telling me this at 3:30 AM? Why not wait until morning? They insisted it was a legal procedure. What kind of legal procedure requires calling someone's parents at 3:30 AM to inform them that their son has been arrested? My grandmother had just passed away due to health issues; my parents were already in a state of shock. On top of that, these Delhi Police goons and brutes wanted me to call my parents at 3:30 AM and shock them with the news that I had been arrested. They have no humanity—absolutely none. They are goons in uniform—thugs wearing the uniform—and Amit Shah has turned them into such hooligans...I haven't signed any bond. We will take to the streets again; we will not be intimidated by people like Amit Shah and Modi. Throw us in jail not just once, but a hundred times—we do not fear your dictatorship. We will put an end to your dictatorship"
Alarming: on the day the Supreme Court ordered the police to allow journalists to do their job, Delhi Police bundle a woman reporter into the van. This despite her and us repeatedly telling the police that she’s with the media, and showing her badge.
Delhi had 221 companies of CAPF. Apart from 20K Delhi Police. Complete clampdown. And yet (miraculously) perpetrators with metal knuckles not only entered but violently attacked women & tore their clothes.
Delhi Police officials say over 7,000 protestors detained today during anti-CEC protest and FIRs may be registered against them. This update is till 7 pm, that means despite massive clampdown thousands came out to protest.
