- The team signed former USL GK of the year Ben Lundt, currently on loan from FC Cincinnati (MLS). Lundt went to MLS from Louisville at the end of last season.
- Its gonna be warm, but not hot with 87 degrees being the estimated temp at kickoff

- Match capacity remains at 50% (official numbers from last match were slightly higher)
- Moar, Lambert and Bakero received Week 1 honors
- Lubin is noted as "out for most of the season" though Coach noted he could return to training in as little as 8 weeks

- Roots ownership is a bit of a mess, the founder was forced out (allegedly) by the board of directors. Former club president Benno Nagel is currently suing the team.
- Roots supporters group is known as the "Roots Radicals"
- The team has a reserve squad playing in USL L2

- This is the season opener for Oakland Roots
- Pre-Season goal scorers were Bokila, C. Rodriguez, and J. Rodriguez
- Fans will (not) welcome Tyler Blackwood back into the Western Conference
