Entire cities, not only in India but the world; All farm lands and factories and orchards and dams, have been made over areas where forests were. In fact the airport in which one lands in Andaman and Nicobar and ports have similarly disturbed the tribal communities. Ohhh we were all tribals, few millennium back.
So progress should stop and be rolled back.
Why cannot we lead teams to China and request not to make similar ports, ships, and in future never be threat to India because we will fast forward to past.

सुना था वक्त अक्सर इम्तिहान लेता है, पिछले कुछ महीनों से मैं यह अनुभव भी कर रहा हूँ।

साल की शुरुआत में ही, मैंने पहले अपने नौजवान बेटे को खो दिया और फिर, इस महीने, 14 April को Singhitarai Power Plant में हुए अफसोसजनक हादसे ने, मुझसे 25 बेशकीमती साथी छीन लिए। मैं ऐसी असामयिक मृत्यु का दर्द भली भाँति जानता हूँ।

दोनों ही हादसे, इतने unnatural से, पीड़ा से भरे लगते हैं, जिसकी कोई कल्पना नहीं कर सकता।

मुझे दुख और हैरत होती है सोचकर कि हमारे इस Athena plant में हमने सर्वोच्च सावधानी बरती, इस plant की पूरी जिम्मेदारी भी हमने Hindustan की सबसे भरोसेमंद महारत्न company NTPC-GE की partnership NGSL को सौंपी। Contractors और Employees भी उनके थे। Expertise भी उनका था। और इसी भरोसे पे निश्चिंत होकर हमने इस plant का रखरखाव और operations, outsource किया था। फिर भी यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण हादसा हो गया।

यह वैसा ही है जैसे अक्सर वाहन मालिक, अपना वाहन किसी भरोसेमंद Driver को दे देते हैं। और उम्मीद करते हैं कि वाहन चालक और वाहन, नियमों के साथ चलकर सलामत रहेंगे।

Vedanta के हर contract में safety पे सबसे ज़्यादा focus रहता है। और NTPC और GE की भी यही policy रही है। उसके बाद भी इतनी बड़ी दुर्घटना हो जाए तो दिल टूट जाता है।

मेरे बेटे Agnivesh सहित, जो 25 प्रियजन हमने खोए हैं, उन सभी जनों को मैं, Vedanta परिवार और अपनी ओर से श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करता हूँ।

सच है कि होनी पर तो कोई बस नहीं है। Athena Plant के सारे के सारे पीड़ितों को मुआवज़ा मिल चुका है और आगे भी हमसे Vedanta Group Chairman के रूप में जो भी हो पाएगा, वो हम ज़रूर करेंगे।

No roads. No railheads. No helicopters.

Just the abode of Lord Shiva, cradled by the Himalayas

Back then, the yatra demanded time, endurance, & faith. The journey wasn’t incidental; it WAS the pilgrimage.

Today, access is easier. And that’s a good thing because it opens the experience to many more.

But perhaps something still needs preserving?

The ability to slow down & savour the experience of traveling.

Because journeys are about who we become along the way.

There cannot be a Hindu name with the Letter F (फ़), because it doesn’t have a Sanskrit origin.

There can be some names with the letter Ph (फ), because फ belongs to प वर्ग in Sanskrit Alphabet.

Examples:

1. फणीश्वरनाथ: The lord of hooded beings (Serpents), refers to Shivji

2. फाल्गुन: The One born under of the two Phalguna Nakshatra or the month of Phalgun, refers to Arjuna.

3. फुल्लित: Means Blossomed or Blossoming. Also refers to happiness.

4. Any name with फूल (flower) - फूलवती, फूलमती।

Bonus info: There cannot be a Hindu name with Z (ज़) but many with J (ज).

As I write this, my inbox is overflowing with messages from TCS employees, from Lenskart employees, from Hindu students of Ashoka University and Azim Premji University, from teachers, from mothers, from civil servants.

They are sharing screenshots, they are sharing their experiences, they are sharing ads and employee guidelines that show a distinct anti-Hindu bias. ‘Talk about TCS. Talk about the bindi in TBZ ads. Talk about Azim Premji. Talk about this. Talk about that’, the messages tell me.

I hear you. You mean well. But I am ONE person. A private citizen with no institutional backing, no legal team, no corporate PR machine. I am doing what I can, using my voice, my credibility and my social media presence for the cause. But here is the question that bothers me; What are YOU doing?

Why are Hindus depending on a handful of voices like mine to fight their fight for them in their own land?

Hindus constitute the overwhelming majority of this country. Majority of TCS employees are Hindu, majority of Lenskart employees are Hindu, majority of students at Ashoka and Azim Premjee university are Hindu, majority of the teachers and professors are Hindu, and yet, Hindus behave like a persecuted minority.

This cannot go on. If you face discrimination at your workplace for being a Hindu, file a complaint and go public with it. If your company runs advertisements that erase Hindu identity, name them, call for a boycott, and follow through. If your university hosts speakers who call for violence against your civilisation, stand up in that hall, walk out or record it and make it public.

Stop waiting for someone else’s courage to be contagious. Dharma does NOT protect those who will not protect it!
