In 2022, Uganda's First Lady, Hon. @JanetMuseveni , launched the River Flow International Primary Science Kit; a mini-laboratory that turns primary science into hands-on discovery.
Built to support the Competence-Based Curriculum, the kits put real tools (microscopes, circuits, magnets, body models & more) into teachers' hands — replacing theory-heavy lessons with seeing, touching and experimenting.
Today, 2,000+ schools and counting are feeling the impact, in both government-aided and private schools. Learners are curious. Teachers are confident. Pass rates are rising.
A quiet revolution — one experiment at a time.

As published today by @newvisionwire,
River Flow International worked with the @Educ_SportsUg last week to train primary school teachers on how to use the new science kits in different districts across the country.
This is Buhinga Primary School in Fort Portal, where teachers learned practical, hands-on methods using equipment such as mini-laboratories, human organ models, and experimental apparatus to improve science teaching.
It took patience and teamwork carefully connecting the bones, aligning the spine, and making sure every joint sat properly.
These hands on moments matter. When teachers can confidently put the models together themselves, they’re far better prepared to use them with their pupils.
Science becomes real when you can hold it, build it, and explain it.
Teachers in Kotido District were on how to effectively use the models in the primary science kit.
It was encouraging to see them actively engage with the measuring cylinders and anatomical models, asking practical questions about bringing these tools into their classrooms.
When teachers feel confident with the materials, science becomes more hands on and meaningful for their pupils.
Teachers in Kotido District & Municipality are being trained today on effective use of Primary Science Kits.
The primary science kits from @Educ_SportsUg & River Flow International are turning science into hands on learning reducing memorisation and sparking real interest in science education.
Great step for practical education in Karamoja.
Even with a big group of 25 from 11 different schools, everyone got a chance to practice, and the energy stayed high throughout the session at Nabilatuk Township Primary School.
Practical tools can make a real difference, no matter the setting.
Seeing teachers light up when they get hands-on with the Primary Science Kit never gets old. At Nabilatuk Township Primary School on the 13th, the group from 11 schools spent the day trying out experiments, asking questions, and figuring out how to bring these lessons to their own learners. Moments like these remind us why we do this work. @STIAUg@Educ_SportsUg
Our team had a really good training day with teachers in Nabilatuk District on Tuesday, 13th October. At Nabilatuk Township Primary School, 25 teachers from 11 schools (22 men and 3 women) joined us to learn how to use the Primary Science Kit hands on.
It was great seeing them practice and get comfortable with the materials so they can take the practical lessons back to their classrooms.

Today, candidates sitting the Uganda Certificate of Education (#UCE2026) examinations commenced their papers, beginning with Mathematics Paper 1 in the morning, followed by Chemistry Papers 1 and 2 in the afternoon.
We are pleased to report that the first batch of examination papers was successfully delivered to all examination centres in good time. Although heavy rains caused flooding and disrupted road access in some parts of the country, our teams demonstrated commendable resilience and commitment, ensuring that the papers reached their intended destinations. We commend them for their dedication and professionalism.
Preliminary reports further indicate that examinations commenced smoothly across the country, despite weather-related disruptions in some areas. We continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safe and timely delivery of examination materials and the smooth conduct of the examinations.
Good morning! Today our teams are training teachers on how to use the Primary Science Kit by River Flow International across three districts:
📍 Nakapiripirit Council Hall, Nakapiripirit – Trainer Nebert 📍 Buzooba Primary School, Rukiga – Trainer Ambrose 📍 Nyantungo Primary School, Kyenjojo – Trainer Stuart
Hands on sessions that equip educators with practical skills for engaging, learner-centered science lessons. Building stronger classrooms, one teacher at a time! @STIAUg
