MCTA has partnered with the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area to provide a free weekend shuttle service along the Pennsylvania side of the river.
Monday, Sept 6, 21 - the Hiker Shuttle will operate a one way loop from the park and ride to Kittatinny to Point of the Gap Overlook via Portland until further notice.
Good news - the Hiker Shuttle will return for 2021! However... the River Runner will be suspended this season. Other good news - funding for the program will continue through 2025. We anticipate returning to 'normal' service in 2022. Visit https://t.co/7U0OR5E1Qk for more info.
MCTA will postpone the 2020 Transit in the Park season. To meet social distancing guidelines issued by the CDC, we could only carry 8 passengers per trip as compared to the normal capacity of 16 seated passengers. We look forward to providing service in 2021!
MCTA will suspend the start date of our service. Service will start when Pike and Monroe counties (PA) are at Yellow Phase PLUS three weeks and a green light from NPS. Since this date has not been announced, we will require time once the phase is changed to launch service.
Who will represent the East in the state championship matchup later this week?

FYI... NPS and MCTA is monitoring the impacts COVID-19 may have on when the season may start. Check https://t.co/SwfE45FuES as May 23rd approaches for any delays.
@danmleephoto It’s about 14 miles-ish. Figure 2.5 miles an hour - so 5.5 to 6 hours (depending on speed of river, how fast you paddle, sharks trailing your kayak... ok not sharks, but)...
@danmleephoto You’ll want to work with the livery. If you a guest at Shawnee inn or rent or get transport through them you can get off the river there.
18 Aug 18 / no service to Smithfield Beach until further notice. Power lines down across road. Consider taking bus from Bushkill to Dingmans as alternate route.
