Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection that can spread throughout the body, affecting other organs. Lack of treatment can lead to serious complications and can be fatal. #typhoidFever

It is advisable that you get enough rest, drink plenty of fluids (especially clean water) and eat regular meals. You may find it easier to eat smaller meals more frequently, rather than 3 larger meals a day. You can also boil your tap water before drinking.

How It Is Spread:
The Salmonella typhi bacteria will be in the faeces of an infected person after they have been to the toilet.
And if they don't wash their hands properly afterwards, they can contaminate any food they touch. Anyone else who eats this food may also be infected.

If someone else eats food or drinks the water that has been contaminated, even if it is with a slight amount of the infected faeces or urine, they can be infected with the bacteria and develop typhoid fever.
