Malama Ummulkhairi, an innocent teacher in Maraban Jos, Kaduna, was falsely accused of child theft and kidnapping- a crime she never did.

She was taken into police custody but later on, the same policemen handed her over to a waiting impatient mob of bloodthirsty barbaric lunatics, who brutally murdered her and burnt her alive.

The Police themselves later confirmed all those accusations were false—she was innocent. Malama was a mother of 5kids. What kind of madness is this?

An innocent woman falsely accused of a crime she never committed, who was safe in police custody, was handed over by the same Nigerian police to a gang of ravaging savages who slaughtered her.

This was the man who murdered my dad’s friend daughter in 2011 by stabbing her over 77 times in various parts of her body, his Name is AKOLADE AROWOLO

He was a RCCG youth pastor and the church tried to subvert justice back then

She was the breadwinner of the house while him a struggling youth pastor with no job or funds and heavily rely on her salary s a banker

Their daughter was just 3yrs old when this useless man took my friend’s life

It started from small beating and shouting then it became a regular thing

We fought hard for her to leave this useless man alone but she always find an excuse for him

Every week is a different mark on her face filled with heavy makeup and shades to hide her scars

She didn’t come to work on that said day and her colleagues got worried and had to call me cos we work in close proximity to each other, I was clueless to on why she didn’t show to work and put a call across her phone and BBM but none went through

Her colleague persuaded me we should both go to her house during our lunch break and we went, on getting to her house her flat doors were locked, it was when I peeped through the kitchen window I saw blood and screamed for help, the kitchen door at the back of the flat got broken and what I saw was her lifeless body in the pool of her own blood

I almost screamed the whole building down with the whole neighborhood rushing down towards the kitchen,it was the most awful crime scenes I’ve ever seen

This horrible man lied she stabbed herself to death and his church supported him until a great pathologists proved them wrong and he was finally sentenced to death by hanging in 2019 and still waiting to be hanged

If you want people to talk about men to stop beating their wives then I’m not the kind of person, if you don’t leave when I advice you to leave then be prepared for whatever outcome you get cos you can see the rates of FEMICIDE in recent years

I’ve written this story over and over again on this platform to encourage women to leave at the first sign of violence

The death of Maj. Gen. Abubakar Rabe, may Allah forgive his soul, has hit hard on the conscience of the Nigerian society; both the security apparatus and the civilian populace have been in their lowest ebb in the face of such a damning loss. A decorated officer who had retired to a humble life, after diligently serving his nation with his life on the line for decades as a prominent figure in the fight against insurgency and terrorism; has now fallen in the captivity of bandits. His life did not fall in any of the fierce battle theatres; but as a cheap target of terrorists who have been in a huge burnout as a result of intense military operations of the last two months. In the month of may alone, 450 terrorists were eliminated by several operations of the Nigerian military such as the Operation Hadin Kai, and Operation Sweep III of Operation Fansan Yamma. Combined ground and aerial offensives have led to the release of 361 kidnap victims in Borno, and the extermination of a convoy of over 100 bandits in Niger state in the space of a month. The most recent release of another 45 hostages in Borno a few days ago speaks volumes of the new war on terror. The evolution of terrorism in Nigeria has necessitated not only the revamping of Nigeria's military artillery, but a remodelling of the security-architecture where hybrid teams are saddled with tactical operations that besiege terrorist activities with greater precision. These specialised teams also help in plugging leakages of details of army operations. The DSS has also mounted such operations alongside vigilante/ community guards, and such is the case with the military too. The military has in the last few years churned out various special & tactical forces with expertise in counter-terrorism operations. The Office of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has been facilitating these specialised tactical teams which have been recording tremendous success in intelligence driven counter-insurgency operations in states like Kogi, Niger and Kwara. These special teams have led to the neutralisation of bandit kingpin Kachalla Ibrahim Bastuji. 

Insurgency in Nigeria had found harbour in vast ungoverned forest spaces that presented as territories and breeding grounds for terrorism. Our borders have been porous enough to serve as toll-free gates for invading marauders who have revolutionised our home-bred/ local content brand of terrorism. Today, we have awoken to a battle royal of terrorist groups fighting over vast lands of forests and intertwined communities. Boko haram, ISWAP, ISSP, Bandits, Lakurawa, IPOB and your good old armed robbers and kidnappers are all part of the composite group labeled terrorists. Miners of mineral resources and timber harvesters are all components of the insecurity industry pillaging Nigeria, especially in the North. The fight against terror is in its 2nd decade and the otherwise smaller or confined terrorist activity in one region has now become a national impasse as the nation continues to bleed from its menace. There are virtually no safe havens now as almost all the regions of the country are battling one form of insurgency or the other. However, recent military exploits have rekindled our hopes for the better.
