I genuinely get uncomfortable when people believe that a coordinated narrative pushed by paid influencers can change the minds of informed citizens.

Some keep claiming that E20 reduces mileage by only a few single-digit percentage points. Yet, the Executive Director of Bharat Petroleum has publicly stated that ethanol contains about 30% less mileage per litre than petrol.

Now the choice is yours whom do you trust … a qualified senior executive from BPCL explaining the fuel’s energy characteristics, or social media influencers pushing a convenient narrative?

Ultimately, citizens should examine the evidence and make up their own minds.

E20 is a full blown fiasco!

Merc's owners manual in 2020:

E20 in BS6 cars is PROHIBITED. Engine & fuel system damage will occur if you use E20 in BS6 cars!

Merc in 2026: All BS6 cars can run on E20. E20 is totally OK!

Is Govt pressurizing automakers to make such U-Turns on E20, which is turning out to be a hot potato of sorts?

When in doubt, I would always trust a manual.

Why? Mercedes Benz Germany's engineers are very unlikely to take such a contrarian stance. In other words, not easy to influence! As for Merc India, they may have their compulsions.

Either way, it's pathetic that we're living in times where even an owner's manual is being subject to such nonsense.

80 lakh. That was the figure doing the rounds on how many Ladki Bahin beneficiaries were removed, tacitly acknowledged by govt.

But records accessed by @vallabhozarkarr reveal the real number. 92 lakh. Nearly 4 in every 10 deleted!

Worse, the ineligible beneficiaries got Rs 14,000 Cr, money that will not be recovered. Among them are people who exceeded income limit, govt employees, & 29,000 men.
