Anyone with a NEAR account can add a quantum-safe FIPS-204 (ML-DSA) key on mainnet today in one transaction, and keep their account and its assets. NEAR wallets like Meteor also support quantum-safe signing.

NEAR creates about 90K new coins every day.

That’s the current 2.5% annual issuance rate. There’s no fixed supply cap today.

About 90% of the new near:native goes to @NEARProtocol stakers and 10% to the treasury. That’s also where most of the staking yield comes from.

I've put these together with some of the other numbers I've shared through the week about NEAR.

Laving out NRR’s first two days from @Bitwise because that was the launch rush: about 11.5M NEAR went into the ETF.

After that, new ETF shares created demand for roughly 31K NEAR a day between Sep 30 and Oct 5.

@near_intents buybacks have averaged about 6K NEAR a day since late February.

Gas burn has recently been under 1K NEAR a day.

These aren’t the same thing. NRR and the buyback wallet acquire existing NEAR. Gas burn actually destroys it.

Still, over those five days, NRR alone created demand for an amount of NEAR equal to roughly a third of what the network issued.

The prop I've been following would gradually cut issuance from 2.5% to 1.6%. At today’s supply, that takes the 90K down to about 57K NEAR a day once fully phased in.
