@UpToTASK The point is that you can't consider it a standard superhero movie. Nostalgia plus arguably one of the top 5 most popular comic characters oat means it was always going to do numbers
@UpToTASK DP&W was a legacy movie, those always do well. Even MOM did almost a billion and none of the characters in that are consistent "A" tier comic characters in popularity. Meanwhile Wolverine is considered an all timer comparable to Spiderman, Batman, and Superman.
@itsmoonhead Gotta hand it to them, that commercial was very convincing. I got one around 10yo, and was disappointed learning you had to learn to do contact juggling. I did learn a bit cause it looked cool on tv, but also learned these are very heavy and not friendly for beginners
@alterego_rose@_ayandamay I didn't experience it all, but tv started out similarly to YouTube. It was free to watch, paid for by ads. All consumers had to buy was hardware. Technology advanced, things changed and it got to the point where everything was privatized and prices were marked up exponentially
disappeared soon after. As of now, coming up on 2 hours after bm and sitz bath, the discomfort/pain is hovering around a 3-3.5. Hopefully will wear off soon since just took a gabapentin 30 minutes ago. Still no hydro yet, but could change if this ramps up further. (20/?)
the second time around. Difference this time is the lingering pain from the bm and constant movement after stiz bath is lasting much longer than the first time and is slightly higher on pain scale. The lingering pain the first time was around a 2 after an hour then (19/?)
Went into 5th day post-op 6/28/26 good, no pain or discomfortoutside of moving and flatulence. That changed a bit after having the 2nd bm. Bm itself wasn't as painful as the first one oddly. The block shouldn'tstill be avtive, but I wonder if it is. Either way was better (18/?)
will have to see how bad it is once it wears off before deciding to take the Hydrocodone. Will probably start taking regular sitz baths starting today to keep area clean and help with any swelling I can't feel yet. Really want to stay ahead of the pain.(17/?)
Still little to no pain going into 4th day post-op 6/27/26. If you ever have to do this surgery, I implore you to request a nerve block; it's been my #1 saving grace for these first few days. Anticipating it to wear off by night time, which I'm expecting to ramp up the pain(16/?)
Ended the night gassy. Was worried it felt like another bm, but thankfully was only gas. A little discomfort passing gas but not bad. Weirdly the most discomfort of this process so far is my shoulders and hips from laying on my sides. I know will change but is funny to me(15/?)
continuingto take Tylenoland Gabapentin, and drinking fluids though still worried not staying hudrated enough. Need to work on it. Little to no pain; nerve block is magic, dreading when it does wear off. Started drinking smoothies for a little more substance than broth (14/?)
all in all I'd say the pain was somewhere around a 4 or 5/10 which isn't too bad, but if not for the nerve block probably would've been a 9/10 if not 10/10. Not looking forward to the second bm though when the block wears off, expecing that one to be the worst. We'll see. (13/?)
saving grace was probably that I went in a sitz bath so was able to wash easily and drain it to take another sitz bath. Was definitely gross, but think it would'vebeen much worse if i had gone on the toilet instead. Will continue to go in sitz baths for the future. (12/?)
6/26/26 Woke up fine. Nerve block still active. Some more discomfortthan precious days so block may be wearing off slightly, would guess is still 80-90% active. Finally had first bm though, that wasn't fun. Definitely not as bad as it could have been, but still painful (11/?)
@umlarp The shows title always bothered me as a kid because by definition cowardice is literally the absence of courage. Maybe the creators were intentionally making it an oxymoron, but my kid brain didn't like it
Increased fluids. Still just broth diet, planning to start adding semi-solids tomorrow. No hydro yet, still acetaminophen systematically. Just took gabapentin though so will probably make me pass out soon since I've never taken before. We'll see how this goes (10/?)
also decided will definitely take bm's in sitz baths for the foreseeable future. Think will help significantly. Still expecting pain to be around 8/10, but hoping won't hit 10/10 at least not for a prolonged time. Nerve block still active, we'll see how it plays out (9/?)
took some stool softeners, will take some more, just to make sure bm's are soft. Trying to increase hydration. Decided to start taking gabapentin (thanks mom) whenever nerve block starts wearing off. Think will help alleviate symptoms instead of just mask pain with hydro (8/?)
is still active to get it out of the way without too much pain. Thinking of eating some semi solids along with broth diet to promote bm's. Planning to either go in the tub with warm water or using bidet at same time to keep area moist while passing. We'll see (7/?)
