An excellent Op-Ed on ivermectin from one of the smartest doctors in northwest Ohio and an outstanding mentor to our @UToledoMed students - @joelkammeyer is one of the best!
Earlier this week, our courts compelled a West Chester, Ohio hospital to administer ivermectin to a patient with COVID-19. The judge ignored scientific evidence and was wrong to intervene in this patient’s case.
Thank you to the Ohio Capital Journal for publishing our Op-Ed.
Requiring a vaccine to work in healthcare is no different than requiring a pre-employment drug screen. It’s not a violation of your personal choice, you are a danger to patients and your colleagues. Your employer does not owe you the right to put other people’s lives at risk.
@mahad_minhas My impression in Ohio is that almost everyone will take applicants from established DO programs - everyone will take a good applicant from Ohio University, for example - but newer DO programs established in the past decade are viewed with some skepticism.
@toledonews So spare me the “oh, it’s ProMedica’s fault” nonsense. UTMC has been a failing institution for years with doctors that treat it as their own piggy bank. It gets what it deserves.
Maybe I’m an outlier here, but I dont get the Blue Angels thing. All I saw was tens of thousands of dollars flying across the sky in the middle of a pandemic while millions wait for unemployment checks so they can eat.
Rossford’s Sammi Mikonowicz makes it official. She will walk-on & join the Toledo Women’s Basketball team. She’s one of the top players in the area. She passed up on some other opportunities for this. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s on scholarship at some point.
Toledo Women’s Basketball is picking up one of the top girls basketball players in the area as a preferred walk-on today. I’ll let her make the announcement, but she’s not a normal walk-on. She will definitely play at some point. I’ll guarantee it.
