Technoblade's dad responds to a youtuber imitating his late son 😔

Technoblade’s father, known online as Technodad, has responded to the growing controversy surrounding Technolarp, a Minecraft YouTuber who intentionally recreates Technoblade’s voice, humor, mannerisms, visuals, and video style.

Technolarp has rapidly grown to around 185,000 YouTube subscribers, presenting himself as an obvious imitation rather than a replacement for the beloved creator. However, the channel has divided the Minecraft community, particularly because some videos closely resemble Technoblade’s original content.

Technoblade, whose first name was Alex, was one of Minecraft’s most influential creators and a major figure in the Dream SMP. He passed away from cancer in 2022 at only 23 years old. His father announced his passing through the emotional final video, so long nerds.

Addressing the situation on Reddit, Technodad admitted that he had been avoiding the subject because he was unsure how to react. While he acknowledged that the imitation could be viewed as flattering to his son, he confirmed that Technolarp had contacted him several times and had not yet received his approval.

“My response is: inconclusive,” Technodad wrote. “I’m still ruminating on the whole thing.” His statement was neither an endorsement nor a request for the channel to stop.

The situation has sparked a sensitive debate among fans. Some view Technolarp’s content as a tribute that brings back the humor and nostalgia of Technoblade’s videos, while others feel that closely imitating a creator who has passed away crosses an uncomfortable line.

>Any digital purchases tied to that account, including games, DLC, and other digital content, will no longer be accessible.
