In 2019 Mohib Ullah spoke at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and met the U.S. President in the Oval Office. In 2021 he was shot outside his own office in Kutupalong.
Five years later I am asking the world the question I asked in 2021. Who wanted the most trusted voice of the Rohingya silenced, and why has no one answered for it?
The shooters were camp based armed men. A leader with his reach is not removed unless someone stronger arranges it. I say this as someone who worked closely with him.
Whoever hoped to gain from his death might have gained. But, Rohingya are still stateless, still in camps, still waiting to go home. His killing might have solved the assassination arranger's problem.
Mohib Ullah deserves an independent investigation and the world's attention today. Please say the name #MohibUllah and ask for the truth.
Horrific reports are emerging from Kyauktaw, Rakhine State. At least 33 people have reportedly been killed and 36 injured in an airstrike near a market.
Among the victims are reportedly people from different communities. Local sources say at least 13 Rohingya are dead or missing, including children.
Civilian lives must never be treated as expendable. Attacks that harm civilians demand urgent investigation and accountability.
The world must not look away. Survivors and victims deserve justice, protection and dignity. #Kyauktaw #Rakhine #Rohingya #HumanRights
At #HRC63, fewer than half of 39 speakers explicitly mentioned accountability or justice for #Myanmar. Five governments did not support calls for accountability.
The evidence of atrocities is documented. What action will governments take?

What is happening to #Rohingya families in Jammu demands urgent attention. Families are dismantling the shelters that have protected them for years.
They are being forced to confront displacement once again, with many unsure where they will find shelter after leaving.
For a community already marked by persecution, statelessness and repeated displacement, this uncertainty carries profound humanitarian consequences.
The rights, dignity and protection of these families must not be overlooked. They deserve safety, shelter and a humane response.

The Arakan Army is not only blocking returns, but actively reshaping the demography and geography of northern Rakhine. OHCHR documents non-Rohingya settlements built directly on Rohingya land. This includes:
roughly 2,000 seized acres
eight new villages in Buthidaung
the occupation of 11 emptied villages in Maungdaw.
Rohingya have also been forced to dismantle their own homes. There are also reports of ancestral villages being renamed. The report warns that this engineering risks the "loss of any possibility of sustainable return”.
Al Jazeera investigates allegations that Myanmar’s Arakan Army is involved in trafficking Rohingya, including children, with survivors reporting abduction, extortion and sexual violence.
A child was shot last night inside the Rohingya camps in Bangladesh and reportedly did not survive. I'm attaching the video of them being rushed to hospital. Watch it.
The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) is stretched across 33 camps with limited investigative capacity, and regular policing does not reach inside camp boundaries. This demands answers.
#WhoIsAccountable when a child dies from stray bullets in a space that is supposed to be under humanitarian protection? Silence is not an acceptable answer.
I am calling on the Government of Bangladesh, UNHCR, and international partners to investigate this death and finally confront the security vacuum in the camps.
On this ninth #RohingyaGenocideDay, I watched footage of Bangladeshi citizens protesting alongside us, demanding the world remember what happened to my people.
They did not have to do this. Nine years on, with their own economy strained and their own communities under pressure, they still chose to stand and speak for us.
For four decades Bangladesh has hosted Rohingya families fleeing Myanmar's violence. #ThankYouBangladesh is not enough, but it is where our gratitude begins.
To every Bangladeshi who marched: our children will grow up knowing your name was on the right side of history when ours was being erased.
As a Rohingya, I want to thank you MP Sameer Zuberi for walking into Camp #4 and Camp #20 Extension and sitting with our youth instead of just reading about us.
You heard the 14-year-old girl who wants to be a teacher. You heard the boy who said he loses his dreams every morning. That listening matters more than you knows.
Alongside MP Salma Zahid and Senator Salma Ataullahjan, you carried our voice back to Parliament Hill. Not pity. Recognition. That is what our community asked for.
Thank you Sameer Zuberi, Salma Zahid, Salma Ataullahjan, and Human Concern International. Please keep pushing. A generation of Rohingya youth is waiting on Canada.
Today marks nine years since the mass displacement and genocide of the Rohingya by Myanmar.
I joined @SenatorSalma, MP @SalmaZahid15 and @HCICanada to present our report on the ongoing Rohingya crisis, following our delegation’s visit to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, last year. (1/3)
The Canadian Parliamentary Delegation report on the Rohingya crisis, led by MP @SameerZuberi, MP Salma Zahid, and Senator Salma Ataullahjan, deserves wide attention.
From November 8 to 15, 2025, the delegation visited Camp #4 and Camp #20 Extension in Cox's Bazar, meeting UNDSS, the RRRC, local NGOs, and Rohingya youth directly.
MP Zuberi wrote plainly that trafficking, early marriage, and desperation are symptoms of hopelessness, and Canada has a responsibility to give life to that hope again.
As a Rohingya who once served as Head Majhi in Camp 1, I thank this delegation for grounding policy in our testimony rather than assumptions. This is what leadership looks like.

Kyaw Moe Tun gave eighty interventions at the United Nations between October 2024 and September 2025.
He mentioned the Rohingya in only eighteen of them. Just five were actually about our crisis.
The other thirteen? Copy-paste sentences shoved into speeches about disarmament, budgets, and prison reform.
Four out of five times, Myanmar's ambassador did not say our name at all.
#Silence is a choice. And Kyaw Moe Tun has chosen to ignore us in the very chamber where our genocide is being judged.
Keep Kyaw Moe Tun at the UN. But stop giving him a free pass on the Rohingya.
I reviewed his UN interventions over one year. Only a handful were actually about the Rohingya crisis. Now he has ignored direct questions on citizenship and accountability.

This is deliberate #disinformation, not a simple error. #GAN has fabricated claims that Bangladesh military is training Rohingya groups solely to smear and criminalise our people.
These invented stories are designed to fuel hatred, justify hostility, and place already vulnerable civilians at even greater risk.
Expose these #malicious lies, reject the propaganda, and demand accountability.
Pro-Arakan Army media like #GlobalArakanNetwork continues to invent dangerous falsehoods. Their latest story about military training is pure #disinformation with zero evidence.
These calculated lies are meant to justify hostility and erase Rohingya voices.
Enough. Expose the #fabricated narratives and hold those who invent them accountable.
The international community and Bangladesh once facilitated large-scale returns in the 1990s. Those returns did not prevent new waves of flight because the underlying persecution continued.
Today the scale is even greater. More than one million #Rohingya refugees wait in the camps while talks about return proceed without clear guarantees of #citizenship.
History shows that #repatriation without rights only creates another cycle of displacement. That cycle must finally be broken.
#Hatespeech and online campaigns against #Rohingya continue in several countries that host us. Some schools for our children have been forced to close.
Displacement does not end when we cross a border. Hostility often follows.
True #protection means rejecting hate and defending the dignity of refugees wherever they are.
#25August is coming again. Nine years after the mass killings and burnings, many of #Rohingya still live in temporary shelters.
We refuse to let the world treat this as old news. #Remembrance is also a demand for #justice that has never arrived.
No more #refugeelife. We want #citizenship, safety and the right to return home with dignity.
In the camps our youth are still trying to build something positive.
Leadership and volunteer training continues despite the difficulties.
Young people refuse to surrender their future to endless waiting. They organise, learn and support their communities.
This quiet work rarely makes headlines, yet it is one of the strongest signs of our determination to survive with dignity. #RohingyaYouth
I am DONE with polite language about the Arakan Army.
They are NOT "ethnic armed actors."
They are NOT "Rakhine resistance."
They are a BLOOD-STAINED CRIMINAL MILITIA that has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Rohingya.
August 5, 2024 was not an anomaly. It was their METHOD.
Drones on civilians.
Burning villages.
Mass executions.
If you still call them "fighters," you are laundering their crimes.
#ArakanArmyCriminals #Rohingya #NoMoreExcuses #Myanmar
This is evidence from 5 August 2024,,
A #Rohingya genocide victim who lost his leg after an attack by the terrorist Arakan Army,,
Every piece of footage and every story serves as a reminder of the human cost of violence and the urgent need for justice and accountability,,
The Arakan Army wants you to believe they are "liberators."
Liars.
On August 5, 2024, they dropped a drone on unarmed Rohingya civilians and murdered hundreds on the spot. This is ONE attack in a pattern of systematic extermination.
They are not fighting for freedom.
They are committing genocide against the Rohingya.
Call them what they are: CRIMINALS.
#ArakanArmyCriminals #Rohingya #StopTheKillings #Myanmar
On August 5, 2024, the ARAKAN ARMY — a criminal militia, NOT resistance fighters — massacred Rohingya civilians with a drone strike.
Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have been slaughtered, displaced, and erased by these criminals. Stop calling them rebels. Stop calling them fighters. They are murderers.
We demand:
⚡ ICC prosecution NOW
⚡ Global sanctions on AA leadership
⚡ UN protection force for Rohingya
#ArakanArmyCriminals #RohingyaGenocide #WarCrimes #Myanmar #JusticeForRohingya
Two years ago today, on August 5 and 6, 2024, the #ArakanArmy (AA) massacred Rohingya civilians as they fled armed conflict in Maungdaw Township, #Rakhine State.
@FortifyRights reiterates our call for the international accountability mechanisms to investigate the AA's attacks on #Rohingya civilians and hold AA commanders criminally accountable.
