In the straight-laced world of athletics, Ciarán Ó Lionáird brought a certain rock-star energy – a quirky, offbeat, individualistic approach that led to him being called ‘Mad Len’. He relished being a showman, a rebel – James Dean meets Jakob Ingebrigtsen.

Ciarán Ó Lionáird was an idol of mine in high school and college. He was the person that helped bring these Jordan singlets to life, and was a firebrand on the track.
Super sad to hear of him passing. Incredibly creative guy, also had a sick mullet when he ran at FSU.
When I look back on my life as a young man in New York, I’ll remember chicken over rice white sauce hot sauce, drinking 8 Guinness in midtown every Thursday with the guys from work, and evening runs along the Williamsburg waterfront. The rest will fade
I miss the whistle been blown after a goal goes in. Feels very ‘Europe’. Proper nostalgia this vid, I remember the next morning everyone trying this at school. What a player.
Proud day for the club, 3 of our own starting for Antrim in the national league! Massive achievement. Ruairi Donaghy, Niall O’Connor and Joe Maskey 👏🏻
NÉA 💛 🖤 💛
Paul Galvin is such a thoughtful man. I remember him being a guest on the Examiner podcast a few years ago and, honest to God, I hung on every word. I would*love* him to get involved with Mayo.
