@alexkatehakis This is an excellent topic because people in recovery programs get these two concepts mixed up all the time. I honestly don’t care about one’s time in sobriety as much as I do time working a program. You aren’t learning anything if all you do is white knuckle through the day.
@LafranceT37334 It’s a composition fallacy that many nonprofits commit: if some part is harmful then all are harmful/responsible. But this is also where people need to be careful because if one leans into defending the industry, those excuses can manifest into denial mechanisms.

We all have a choice. A chronic porn consumer always has the option of saying “NO”. Crippled impulse control and craving sway decisions toward “MUST”
NO is denial of what the 🧠 is screaming that it needs. Many find that the ultimate solution is acceptance of suffering.
@LafranceT37334 Late to the reply LT but I def experienced this a few times. You get so high from that long lost viewing experience that you remember it years later and self-trigger just by thinking about it. The opposite of trauma- an overwhelming pleasure episode that puts you off balance.
@FightTheNewDrug Plenty of people willfully buy and sell narcotics free of coercion, and end up destroying themselves in the process while supporting the trade that creates more problems for society. The ethical discourse extends beyond coercion.

@LafranceT37334 I was that way too. Brain has been baked on decades of limitless 🆓 🌽. The adventure of finding it is part of the process. But if you follow what I wrote above, understand that the pushback is duplicitous. The’ve all been gearing up for a SSO model.
When I was a young boy, the 🅿️🅾️®️N mags where behind a counter and you had to show 🆔. The internet vendors had 30+ years to comply with laws (and most didn’t). So now the laws have been modified to force said compliance. I don’t like it either, but there is a reason we ended up here.

@NJuhhhhk@FightTheNewDrug Telling the p* junkies to be disciplined is a tall order 😂. Many of these guys will get triggered in that split second they are on “for you”. Getting that sobriety time under the belt helps break the habit loop and they can later work on app discipline.
