I agree, but I think this applies to almost every profession.

The real challenge isn't losing football or work; it's moving from being busy to not being busy. Many people spend decades occupied by a career, only to discover at retirement that they've never really met themselves outside of it, or forgotten what it was like.

Football just makes it more visible because the stage is bigger.
