@arielhelwani As an Irish person I learned years ago that they've buried the dodgy parts of their history by speaking to English ppl who half the time didn't even know Ireland was another country, let alone how heavy the history was. It's down the schools and leadership, not the kids.
@Ramin_Rezaian_ The treatment you received is a stain on the tournament, FIFA and the US in general. Not to mention it completely undermines the credibility of the tournament. So sorry it happened to you all. 🇮🇪 🤝 🇮🇷
@Kandevjs@sapphyreblayze Totally agree. Used to have to visit Austin regularly solo for work and deliberately booked a hotel with an in room kitchen because there was a Whole Foods a short walk away. I cried tears of joy when I saw the Irish salted butter.
@Kandevjs@sapphyreblayze Fair enough! I guess the thing to keep in mind - as I've often remine d US colleagues - is that we are not the United States of Europe. Even countries that share borders are wildly different re: climate, sensibilities, sensitivities, customs, restaurant/store chains, brands, etc.
@trouble_msgcntr@zuznothing13 OK, sorry but you're completely wrong. TGE sold more globally than Parklife and Blur is their biggest selling singles album. Throw in tours exploding post-94. They were loaded by 96. Read Alex's first book.
@Kandevjs@sapphyreblayze Where did the no ice in Europe idea come from? We have ice. Bountiful ice. Either from an appliance or, if your fridge or freezer are older, you buy it in the shop around the corner/across the road.
@zuznothing13@trouble_msgcntr Yeah but that was 93? Then came Parklife to 13 before the best of came out in late 2000. I don't think they were still short of cash at that stage.
@StreetStephen Ireland seemed so much on the side of Oasis at this point (I was getting stick at school for liking blur) that at 11 I was worried nobody would show up and it would be cancelled. Couldn't have been more wrong! Life changing stuff. "Bad luck, Spain".
