Was sitting in a crate and barrel down absolutely horrendous while my lady shopped and a true hero employee appeared with an espresso from one of their fancy machines
K’Andre Miller’s game fell apart the last couple of weeks and he was up and down all year. I’m not giving up on him, but next season is year 4. He should be away from Trouba next season, and it’ll be his second in Laviolette’s system. Gotta see consistently good 5v5 metrics.
On about 4 hours of sleep, here are my #NYR post-mortem thoughts…
Things I genuinely feel good about:
-Igor (no elaboration needed)
-Laviolette - feels like the right coach for this group
-Lafreniere - has arrived and has a game that translates to the playoffs
You probably need to make 1-2 decisions that will shock people, most of all the team itself. It’s exactly what Florida did when they acquired Tkachuk. Florida’s identity completely follows from that move. Easier said than done, but that’s what it will take.
@LGM698624 That is very much not his system. It’s low event hockey but “dump and change” only happens when you spend 45+ seconds chasing in your own end, and are too tired to go play offense afterwards. They want to get the puck out quicker, they just can’t with this personnel.
