@PhoneyMajor Gavin, in your research on Z Special Unit did you find anything on Welfrieghter in the Services Reconnaissance Department (SRD)? My grandfather (KOSB then Army Commando with SOE and 2SBS experience) travelled to Australia in Dec 44. I think he worked with M Special Unit.

Even though most of the Battalion is on leave, we have 2 groups of soldiers away skiing in #France. One group on #ExFOSTEDBLADE and another group with @CO_3RIFLES. The army has a lot to offer and it’s great to see that offer being taken up!

This month a team from #2SCOTS deployed on the inaugural EX SUNDA PATROL. Hosted by the #1RGR in Brunei, the team was tested to the limit. Despite the gruelling jungle, the team won a silver medal and came second out of the oversea teams, a fantastic achievement. #jungle

But time is an important factor not just risk and rigour. It’s all a sacrifice of sorts. Last fifteen years not necessarily representative of the next.

@GunnyHighway6 It’s genuine. With hidden agendas at play. Security is improved because the war is over. TB were always anti corruption and both sides used opium to fund the war. Is it better? He doesn’t say that. But he does say we can’t have influence without an embassy, which makes sense.
