🇦🇺 Australia: Ex-AFP Detective Torches Albanese’s $66M Islamophobia Package as “Myopic”

A former AFP detective superintendent has called the Albanese government’s $66 million response to the Islamophobia Envoy’s report “myopic” and ineffective.

David Craig criticised extra cultural training for police, $41.9M for improving security at Islamic faith locations, a $15M Muslim-only sports centre, and other multicultural grants, arguing Australia already has sufficient cross-cultural programs and that funding appears one-sided. He noted attacks on synagogues and churches occur more frequently than on mosques.

Craig also slammed the rejected proposal to water down ideological motivations in terror laws as “naive and blatantly stupid.” He says the package won’t boost safety or genuine social cohesion.
