@GitRDoneLarry You know the guys in the crowd at the comedy show who think they could do standup, and their lame heckles ruin the show? Same vibe for you pretending to be a climate scientist.
@sartori_caio@NdamukongSuh Your take makes no sense. In response to inflation, interest rates went up from 2.9% to 6%. This has dramatically changed the cost of a mortgage.
@DrAnimeshSingh@MithuRheum@rabihmgeha @DxRxEdu Okay let’s all pace ourselves on the “HLH is on the differential” for new fever; Try not to sprint to the zebra diagnosis. If HLH is the first thing that comes to mind when fever and/or ferritin are up, you owe it to yourself to do some more reading.
I’m concerned @danorlovsky7 doesn’t understand what “run away” candidacy means if someone is also “right behind him.”
People know those are opposite things right?
@Aaron__Wells@RadioFreeTom@realEDdoc As a legit Critical Care doctor, who cared for hundreds of Covid patients, let me say that ICU numbers are low, hospitalizations are basically zero and deaths are zero. Pretending we are still in the same place with this virus is just lying.
A small prospective #LongCovid study cohort assessing persistent virus, autoimmunity, or immune activation failed to show any of these features were present or differed from controls

@PoleDoctress My father told me it was like entering into a pie eating contest. You stuff yourself on all that pie, and when you win? the reward is more pie.
Whenever i hear “yeah well the left has crazy people too,” it feels like bad faith both-sidesism. Then I come across this kind of deranged hyperbole and I get discouraged.
This thread on AIDS and the comparison to COVID19 may be well intentioned, but it pretty quickly veers into disinformation and misunderstands what we do know about COVID. Old claims that it’s a vascular disease. Fear mongering. This isn’t helping.
Went to my first Mardi Gras (tournament) in ‘03, easily the biggest tournament I had ever seen. Play in game under the lights in ‘05. Huge tourney. Great games. King Cake. Unforgettable. Hope for their sake someday they can get back to that
I’m glad that Mario Gras is still a thing for college teams, but they really don’t know what they are missing compared to the early/mid 2000’s tournaments.
Elite teams from all over, 50+ teams, huge party, free beer/jambalaya, that awesome band at the party.
Vaccinated? boosted? We should be pushing each other to live life. Those with incompetent immune systems or many high risk features, with guidance from your doctor, you can find a range of risk that is acceptable to you and your family. Unvaccinated? Please just go get it.
We need to start talking about covid mortality risk in terms that make sense to the population. Before the vaccine, estimates for Covid mortality were 1-1.5%. Maybe not scary but on a pop. level, that’s 1-1.5k deaths per 100k, or 3-4million if hitting 100% of US. staggering.
Measures to reduce sheer volume of cases, like masks, help off load our hospitals, and reduce total spread. Often very reasonable. But also balancing against the importance of seeing faces in school, with friends, and in our home lives.
