A higher standard of legal literacy from the Lords than the Commons, and a decent job answering questions from @Jacqui_Smith1:

But what’s missing across the board is an acknowledgement that the status quo ante was based on deception & confusion.>
@danwootton I still don't understand why @cathynewman is given any screen time.
She clearly isn't very intelligent and she's alarmingly bad at her job. @jordanbpeterson demonstrated that, as have many others since.
@reformparty_uk This sort of stunt isn't going to tempt Tory voters to vote @reformparty_uk. If anything, this is very likely to turn them away and encourage them to stick with @Conservatives.

Please just shut up with this "I'm respecting Henry Nowak's family's wishes" nonsense.
I'm hearing it from countless people on the left, and it completely misses the point.
Here's some much needed context..
When families release statements after a high profile killing, it is extremely common for lawyers, media advisers, victim support organisations, or police family liaison officers to help draft, review, or shape the wording.
Phrases such as:
• "We do not want this tragedy to cause division."
• "Please do not use our loved one's death to spread hatred."
• "We ask people to remain peaceful."
• "We do not want tensions between communities."
are standard in these kinds of statements. You can research it yourself if you think that's inaccurate.
NO, I'm not suggesting that Henry's family didn't genuinely mean what they said. They very well may have.
What I do reject is the claim that their statement was a demand for everyone to stop discussing the case, stop asking questions, and stop scrutinising what happened.
In fact, the family themselves highlighted concerns about how Henry was treated by the police and suggested that those responsible may need to face legal consequences.
Calling for people not to spread hatred is not the same thing as demanding silence. Those are two very different things.

Pride month has been entirely co-opted by the trans and 'queer' movements.
As a gay man, I cannot participate in a month that celebrates repackaged homophobia.
@soniasodha I genuinely think they aren't smart enough.
This would be fair enough for service providers / duty bearers who are busy with other things, but our MPs should understand how legislation works - it's literally the primary focus of their roles.
George Floyd couldn't breathe because he was overdosing after robbing a store
Henry Nowak couldn't breathe because he was stabbed by a foreigner and gasping for air while police refused to help
Which one do you think the media covered relentlessly?
There really is nothing to be proud of.
The modern “queer” movement has presided over chemically castrating autistic kids at “gender clinics” and putting hulking great male rapists in women’s prisons,
Pardon my language, but Modern “pride” is an absolute fucking disgrace.
Britain had a moment of silence for George Floyd. Our politicians kneeled en masse to show their outrage at his killing. "I can't breathe" became a slogan.
George Floyd died on the other side of the world. He wasn't British.
Henry Nowak *was* British and his treatment by the police was shocking and negligent in the extreme. Yet there is no minute of silence. There is no coordinated public campaign. There is no kneeling at sporting events.
And we all know why.
During the summer of BLM, some people said "All Lives Matter". This was treated as the highest form of racism and anyone who said this was immediately cancelled. Why? Because the people in charge don't actually think all lives matter in the same way.
They have created a racial hierarchy of victimhood where a career criminal who died through mistreatment by police in a foreign country with 0 evidence of racism like George Floyd is automatically sanctified because of the colour of his skin.
And Henry Nowak, a British man, one of ours, is automatically dismissed and ignored because of the colour of his.
This is the ugly fruit of so-called "anti-racism", an obsession with race that has created a two-tier society which treats people differently because of the colour of their skin.
This needs to stop.
Henry Nowak was unresponsive, presumably dead, as police read him his rights after false allegations of racism from his murderer.
They cuffed him, and dragged him, as he drowned in his own blood, desperately telling them he had been stabbed and couldn’t breathe.
This is 1000x worse than George Floyd.
It’s the most horrific thing I’ve ever seen. He’s telling them he’s been stabbed and can’t breathe. The police officers puts him face down in the gravel, doesn’t check for stab wounds. Police must be prosecuted.
I feel sick. Those police officers MUST be arrested and prosecuted, the fact an investigation is STILL ongoing after seeing that footage beggars belief.
Some of them are still on duty.
Hampshire police must be put in special measures IMMEDIATELY.
It's almost too excrutiating to watch. But watch we must & we must not look away. We must hear those cruel last words Henry heard. And recognise: this is what happens when police/state agencies become completely discombobulated by mandated EDI identitarian victim politics on race
This is a thousand times worse than George Floyd. They put an innocent man in cuffs and left him to bleed to death on the ground because he’s white. Unconscionable. Outrageous.
The footage is haunting.
The first thing police came across on the scene was a panicked man shouting that Henry "had a mouth full of blood."
They then arrested him without checking - simply because he was white and his attacker brown.
People must go to jail over this.
The Henry Nowak police bodycam footage is one of the most sickening and disgusting things I have ever seen in my life.
White people are now under attack by the authorities.
This has to be a turning point.
That poor young man. Utterly heartbreaking.
Henry Nowak CANNOT die in vain.
I DON’T CARE what your religion or culture is - no one should be legally allowed to carry a blade in the United Kingdom as part of their faith.
Don’t like it? Move to another country that permits it!
BAN IT NOW!
