The many many elected Māori can vote on their councils. The ones that are not elected can appeal to those who are and then try to get elected the next time round.

@HobsonsPledgeNZ Great to hear but I fear that some ‘advisory groups’ in some regions, where they are permitted to be present when the votes are taken, will continue to intimidate/bully the elected Councillors to ensure their will prevails.
We need to watch this space carefully

Marae have operated as important community hubs for assistance in crises. That is why many of them receive funding from the govt. The attitude below is very worrying. Any community centre or marae that receives funding to help in emergencies should not be able to turn away any NZer, especially not based on who they vote for. Never mind it is a breach of Human Rights Act & Bill of Rights Act.
