Latest @DefraGovUK stats on UK livestock numbers:
1996: 4.45m breeding female cattle and 19.5m breeding f sheep. 2021: 3.3m breeding f cattle and 14.5m breeding f sheep. Ruminant numbers falling & GHG emissions rising. Maybe its not the burps.
@1GarethWynJones Bring back: traditional choices beef, venison & wild boar but the Tudors also ate a range of wild animals and birds that we wouldn't eat today, including badger, blackbird & woodcock. Turkeys first came to England in 1523 & during the Tudor period were seen as an exotic delicacy.
This is the classic denialist position on livestock farming, founded on total pseudoscience. It's worth being aware of, as it gets a lot of traction. But it's as wrong as claiming that CO2 is plant food, ergo emissions are good for the planet.
