Nick Saban believes if there’s not any regulations put on NIL and collectives soon, Olympic sports in all NCAA schools will be shut down solely in favor of paying football and basketball.

Emma Grace Hurley has quietly become one of the most consistent American road racers right now. In 2026 alone, the ASICS athlete and Heartland Track Club member (coached by Andrew and Amy Begley) set the American Record at 8K (24:29 at the Shamrock Shuffle), won USATF titles at 10 miles (Cherry Blossom) and 25K (Gate River Run), and took second at the USATF 5K Championships.
This week it became official: She will be a scoring member of the U.S. half marathon team for Copenhagen, after being one of three athletes misdirected in the closing stages of the national championships in Atlanta back in March.
World Athletics granted an exception allowing seven American women to race. Jess McClain, Emma Grace, and Ednah Kurgat will be scoring alongside American record holder Weini Kelati.
What makes Emma Grace’s story so good? She left Furman in 2020 with a 15:57 5K PB, quit running for a bit, took a job at JP Morgan, and figured she was done. She’s now a 15:00 5K runner, an 8K American record holder, a 2x national champ, and Worlds qualifier. She will be adding MARATHONER to her resume this fall.
She sat down with @ChrisChavez while on a trip to Brooklyn to get into bouncing back from Atlanta to set a national record three weeks later, her career progression and what scares her most about the marathon block ahead.
