Other clubs built new grounds, then went into admin (Scum). Bloom just a football fan. Look at fortunes lost at Stoke, Preston, Reading etc. Reality bites?

@PompeyPedro @CWeatherspoon_ But this also shows the stark reality of the situation faced by Pompey. Without a huge revenue increase (sponsorship or tickets) or sale of prized assets (ie TD or JM) then this can move by 8-10m max, So still only mid/bottom of this table.

@PompeyPedro 100% agree - but it also needs to be considered within the realistic parameters of the possible. Unless a huge upgrade of revenue occurs (or Murph &/or Devlin are sold) then realistically a budget for lower midtable is still only possible over the next season or 2 @mrandrewmoon

@KieranMaguire Just checking this…. They’ll “earn” the 35m of parachute payments - it’s just that most of it will need to be paid to Macquarie (cash flow not income statement) as it’s secured or will need to be refinanced.

@pn_neil_allen Think another CB and FB will be needed as I fear (unpopular opinion but probably necessary) Terry will be sold in the summer if the right offer comes in (over 10m with add ons) to help fund next steps. Remember Cov sold Gyokeres and Hamer to fund their existing team!! #pompey

@Reddevi44483856 @R_o_M Football is a discretionary spend. Authorities and Owners would do well to remember that. Inflation has been brought in by the owners. At some point people will stop paying for Sky or refuse to take the increase from any new deal.
